Luca & Emily - New Partnership!

Due to Sofie wishing to stay in the Juvenile category, Luca and Soife unfortunately ended their partnership.

They had a great 6 months together, which culminated in them making the top 12 at the UK Closed in Bournemouth. A fantastic achievement after such a short time together. All of us at Step By Step wish Sofie the very best for the future.

However, after a few weeks off the floor, we are delighted that Luca now has a new dance partner in the lovely Emily Davies!

Really looking forward to the hard, but extremely fun work of getting these 2 ready for Juniors!

Exciting times ahead 😊🕺💃

Hereford UKA Dance Competition!

What a fantastic day we all had at the UKA comp in Hereford! It was lovely to see such terrific dancing from you all and some fab results to boot! We had a number of second and third places, but our star of the day was Shannon, who taking part in her first competition, won both the Ballroom and Latin in the 12-13 silver/gold section. Well done Shannon!

Whether pleased or disappointed with your results, its takes a lot of courage to take part in a competition and for most of you, this was your very first time! You all danced superbly and held your nerves and you should all be very proud of yourselves!

Thank you to Dan and Ian for partnering the spare ladies and for everyone who came to support. It's so lovely to be able to attend events like this as a school and be able to support everyone in their event!

Well done again, already looking forward to the next one on September at Wythenshawe!

A big thank you to everyone who came to our dance social in Market Drayton on Saturday! It was an extremely busy (and hot!) one, with over 60 people in attendance.

It was lovely to see so many new faces at the social and to see the dance floor packed for every dance.

Well done to our medal testers (some of whom are pictured) for your amazing results and for also demonstrating your dancing to everyone in attendance. It is very brave to dance on your own in front of everyone and you all nailed it!

Special thanks to everyone who helped with setting/packing up the room, donated to the raffle or helped with the buffet, it was greatly appreciated!

Thank you also to Luca and Sofie for demonstrating your amazing dancing to us all, it was a real privilege to have you with us.

Thank you all again and see you all again at a class/event soon

What a fantastic time we all had in Blackpool!

This was our 5th such trip and I'm delighted to say, it was our biggest and best one yet! We enjoyed 2 days of dancing at the Blackpool Tower and it was a great privilege to see so many Step By Stepper's dancing on that iconic floor.

Some of us then went to watch the annual Team Match on the Saturday evening, which was once again, won by America. It is always such an honour to watch the best in the world perform and the evening was even more poignant, when 10 times World Champion, Arunas and Katusha announced there retirement. What an honour to watch their final dance!

Thank you all for coming and already looking forward to Blackpool 2020!

29th April - Happy International Dance Day!

Happy International Dance Day to you all!

Here is a picture of a 9 year old me in my 'Singing In The Rain' tap dance outfit! Little did I know at that point that I would one day become a dance teacher and have been able to meet all the fantastic people I have met through dance!

My inspiration to dance was a mixture of the love of the film, Mary Poppins and renowned Irish dancer Michael Flatley. Aged 5, my parents asked me if I would like to learn to dance properly and after saying yes, took me along to the local dance school. After seeing all the girls in the class, I promptly cried and went back home without having the lesson! However, my parent's asked me the following week if I wanted to go back, which I did and the rest as they say, is history!

Would love to hear off my pupils as to who or what inspired you to begin to dance?

Medal Competition in July!

I'm delighted to say we will be recommencing UKA dance competitions, with the first one we plan to go to being Hereford on the 7th July!

UKA comps can be danced either with myself or with your dance partner and are a great introduction to the competitive world. There are entry levels for those of you taking your first steps into competitions, as well as higher level events for more advanced dancers. These competitions are open to anyone who has taken a medal test within the last 12 months and you will dance the routines you have been learning for your medal tests.

The Hereford competition tends to be a quieter event on the UKA calender, so would act as a great introduction for first timers! We always had great fun at these competitions in the past and we hope to be able to take a big group along with us.

If you would like to register your interest, or require anymore information then please get in contact with me!

Dance Social Success!

Thank you all once again for coming, it is a privilege to see you all come and support these events and to see you all enjoying your dancing so such! See you all at our next social in Market Drayton in June!
